Founder and CEO
President and General Counsel
Tae Darnell is President and General Counsel of Sensi Media Group. Previously, Darnell had served in roles including CEO, Vice President of Business Development, and General Counsel for Surna, Inc., a company he co-founded and helped grow into one of the top revenue earners in the public sector for cannabis companies. One of Colorado’s first full-time Cannabis lawyers, he brings a wealth of experience to Sensi Media Group. Prior to co-founding Surna, Darnell co-founded the Cannabis Law Center, a firm that played a pivotal role in Colorado's rise to creating the world's first fully regulated system for cannabis. The Cannabis Law Center represented over 500 true leaders of the industry, including dispensaries, cultivation premises, and infused-product manufacturing companies.
Darnell also has extensive executive-level experience and comprehensive expertise in the sports and entertainment industries. Darnell has worked or partnered in business with Grammy winners, Emmy winners, Indie winners, and NFL and NBA athletes. He was a licensed NFL Agent and also once headed one of the largest independent record labels in the country, releasing over 65 recording projects in a six-year period, winning 14 Album of the Year awards, and securing nomination for over 40. He has facilitated licensing for film and television to companies including: ABC, CBS, PBS, TNT, Time/Life, Hallmark Entertainment, and MTV, and created successful relationships for retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, Tower Records, Virgin Megastores, Walmart, Whole Foods, Discovery Channel Stores, and many more.
Editor in Chief
Stephanie is the editor in chief of Sensi Magazine—and it's pretty much her dream job. She joined Team Sensi back when the pro-cannabis lifestyle magazine was just a dream in founder Ron Kolb's mind. That was summer 2015, a few months after she relocated to Denver on a whim. In her previous life in Miami, she was the launch editorial director of Royal Media Partners, the exclusive onboard media partner of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the world’s second-largest cruise company. Prior to that position, she served as editorial director of Haute Living, a series of über-luxury lifestyle magazines with regional editions in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Her role launching new markets and growing the magazine into a niche industry leader earned her a spot on the Apex Society’s “Power 30 Under 30” list for Miami in 2010. Stephanie received her degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts in 2003.
Leland has spent his entire career in journalism. He was a reporter, columnist, and editor at many newspapers, including The Kansas City Star and the Colorado Daily in Boulder. He was the founding editor of Boulder Weekly, an award-winning news publication, and has written Weed Between the Lines, a column about cannabis legalization issues, since 2013. He was editor in chief for Flatirons magazine, an award-winning travel magazine for the Boulder/Denver area, and was editor of Blues Access, a quarterly blues journal. He’s been active in radio and television for 25 years, hosting programs on KGNU, a non-profit radio station, where he discusses cannabis issues. He’s also been the online editor for Free Speech TV, a non-profit television station.
Managing Editor, Southern Colorado
Randy’s start in cannabis began as a molecular biology student at the University of Colorado. While there, he studied under cannabinoid researcher Robert “Dr. Bob” Melamede, PhD and learned that cannabis did a lot more than cause hunger and giggles. He’s been seen on Merry Jane and AlterNet, and he previously served as an editor at Culture Magazine. He also wrote about sex, politics, and war for a current events blog he co-founded with Elie Nakouzi of Lebanon's MurrTV.
Founding Publisher, Denver/Boulder
Tyler has more than 10 years of direct sales, advertising, recruiting, and team building experience as a corporate executive for Vector Marketing Corporation. During his career with Vector, Tyler recruited and trained more than 2,000 independent sales reps to total over 3.5 million, with several individuals in his organization earning pivotal current managerial roles in the company. In addition, he helped lead the North Florida area for United for Care, Florida’s leading campaign for medical marijuana, where he consulted on social media, volunteer mobilization, phone banking, and petition gathering efforts. He is a graduate of Florida State College of Jacksonville. As Sensi’s first publisher, Tyler brings to the company a deep understanding of leadership and the sales process.
