Community Expungement Clinic and Cannabis Business Resource Fair
San Francisco and Oakland have established Cannabis Equity Programs that seek to create business opportunities and economic stimulation for those communities disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs.To help achieve that goal, Students for Sensible Drug Policy at Golden Gate University School of Law is hosting a Community Expungement Clinic and Cannabis Business Resource Fair on March 31st from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at 536 Mission Street in San Francisco. The event is composed of three parts: reduction of criminal records, business education, and a resource fair. The first component is an expungement clinic where law students and volunteer attorneys will help individuals fill out expungement applications. Second is the education component. During this section, attorneys and business experts will educate attendees on writing a business plan and the other first steps to starting a cannabis business under state and local regulations. The education portion will be followed by a cannabis business resource fair where businesses and community organizations will network and provide resources to equity applicants who want to participate in the newly regulated industry.This is a FREE event.
