EMBRACING WHAT’S NEXT
There is nothing quite as exhilarating as beginning a new year with a clean slate full of promise and a new lease on life. The year prior was one of lessons, excitement, travel, art, innovation, chaos, political unraveling, and more. It’s like we’re about to hear someone yell, “You’ve been punked!” No such luck.
It’s also the year I came on board as the managing editor of Sensi, Southern California. Admittedly, I had a few hesitations because my knowledge of cannabis was limited to days in high school spent sitting in a corner eating brownies, deep thinking, and people watching. Cannabis has come a long way since then!
As CBD gains the credibility it deserves, I’m in awe of its progress. I use CBD on a regular basis to manage migraines and curb stress when it rears its ugly head, and I’m meeting more and more people whose lives have been transformed by this magical plant and flower. From incredible documentaries to cookbooks galore, cannabis is finding its way to a classier respectabilité. It has transformed from the likes of an ingénue and is now the cool kid in town—and one that’s here to stay.
This issue is our first of the new year, and I say we start off with panache, a.k.a. more heart, drive, and intriguing content. This issue we’re exploring what’s new and what’s ahead. From exquisite new hotels to sophisticated cannabis popup dining and social events throughout California, we’re in for a bewitching adventure. Whether we turn to art, hospitality, cannabis, or travel, there seems to be a trending theme embracing the notion that perhaps we’ve become a bit too hasty in our lives and it’s time to pause, appreciate the simpler things, and commit to having far more captivating experiences. In other words, it’s going to be a revelatory year.
As you turn the pages of this Sensi issue, I hope you experiment, laugh a little more, get curious about life and yourself. While we have big plans this year, remember that none of us know exactly where life will lead us, which is precisely why it’s the idyllic time to live with a little reckless abandon. Push yourself to see more, do more, and try more.
In the words of Elon Musk, “If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day.”
